Dallas-based designer and entrepreneur Kenneth Lee McClintock, known widely as "Kennymac," recently stepped away from business to spend quality time with his family — a pause that reflects the values that have anchored his decades-long career in interior design. Best known as co-founder of Cutting Corners Inc., McClintock has built a reputation in the home decor and decorative fabrics industry while keeping family life at the center of his story.
McClintock's design career began in earnest with the launch of Cutting Corners Fabrics and FabricResource.com in the early 2000s, growing into a multi-location operation across Dallas and Houston. Co-founded with his father, Captain E.A. McClintock, Cutting Corners became known for quality materials and personal service, earning loyalty from interior designers, decorators, and DIY enthusiasts alike. Two of the company's flagship locations continue operating today, a testament to the durability of the business he helped build.
Outside the studio, McClintock is known for a life lived actively — scuba diving, spearfishing, home brewing, and time on the water, often alongside his daughter Kaylee, who was born in Key Largo. His children, Makennon, Kayden, and Kaylee, are frequently described as the center of his life and motivation.
