Gyrene
Burger Company Opens in Knoxville
The
new military-themed restaurant started by Domino's Pizza founder has Rob
Wynkoop, a First Lieutenant in the US Marines, as its Knoxville owner
Knoxville, Tennessee – Hungry Knoxville
residents and visitors now have a new place to grab a bite, and they're being
ordered to fall in line for delicious food. Gyrene Burger, the new restaurant
chain from Domino's Pizza founder Tom Monaghan, has established its foundation
franchise location in the Cumberland Strip. The first in the area, Gyrene
Burger offers fast delivery of fresh-cooked burgers and hand-cut fries.
The
foundation Gyrene Burger store in Knoxville is run by Rob Wynkoop, a radio
platoon commander for the 4th Marine Division Communications Company in
Cincinnati, Ohio. As a First Lieutenant in the Marine Corps Reserve, it was
logical for Wynkoop to open the restaurant. The name Gyrene is actually a
combination of GI and Marine, and Monaghan, a former Marine himself, started
the chain hoping the business would empower military veterans, letting them
take their honed skills into their own business.
The
difference is in the precision Gyrene Burger takes with their food, taking care
to cook and deliver burgers in as little as 10 minutes flat. Wynkoop is
currently participating in the annual two week service required of all Marine
reservists, but after it ends, he'll be right back giving Knoxville their best
burgers.
The 100%
Angus burgers consists of two meat patties cooked to perfection and topped with
ketchup, cheese, bacon, mustard and pickles. Custom burgers, triple burgers,
and bacon cheeseburgers are also available, as well as an assortment of wings
and chicken meals. Desserts are on hand too with giant cookies and Hershey
chocolate pie.
The Gyrene
Burger is a delivery restaurant (and offers eat in too) located at 1927
Cumberland Avenue, Knoxville, Tennessee 37916 and is open 11:oo a.m. to 9:30
p.m. Monday-Wednesday and Sunday, and 11:00 a.m to 11:00 p.m.
Thursday-Saturday. They can be reached at (865) 281-5426
