Colombia-born college student seeks support for a life-changing journey home.
October 2024 – Juan, a 23-year-old student originally from Colombia, is reaching out to the public for help in reuniting with his family, whom he hasn’t seen in three long years. After receiving a passport stamp that allows him to travel home, Juan is racing against time to make the trip before his stamp expires in March 2024. With hopes to visit his family in December after his college classes conclude, he’s facing a challenging financial situation that threatens to delay his much-needed reunion.
“Balancing school and working nights at a restaurant has been difficult, but I’ve been saving every penny I can,” Juan explains. “Unfortunately, I fear it won’t be enough in time.”
For Juan, this trip is about more than just returning to Colombia; it’s about reconnecting with loved ones, filling the void created by years of separation, and sharing precious moments with family. Juan is seeking the kindness and generosity of others to help cover his travel expenses.
“Being away from my family has been one of the hardest experiences of my life,” Juan shares. “This trip is my chance to heal and reconnect with the people I love. Any contribution, no matter how small, will bring me one step closer to being with them again.”
