Indie Rights will release “Mommy’s Box” in theaters and digital on September 30.”

Marks Papadatos from Digital Journal says, "Mommy's Box" is an exceptional motion picture. It was released in theaters and digital formats on Sept. 30 from Indie Rights.”
“Greenlaw takes on the lead role of New York music producer Nick who is battling his own demons and he find out about his unstable mom's death. When Nick returns to his Long Island home for the mom's wake, many of the family secrets unfold, and they intertwine well with the different story-lines. The film lives up to its tag-line where "the past is never where you left it.”

The fact that Greenlaw has left the idea of the "box" open to interpretation, makes it an even more compelling motion picture.

The Verdict

Mommy's Box garners an A rating. It is rich in symbolism and it will leave the viewer drenched in a wide spectrum of raw emotions. Anybody who is from New York, especially Long Island, will find this movie relatable. It is filled with wit, mystery, suspense and the acting is superb. It was worthy of all the awards and accolades it received at the 2016 Long Island International Film Expo for "Best Film," "Best Music Score" and "Best Original Song in a Feature Film." The Manhattan Film Festival got it right when they named it "Best Feature Film" of 2016.”

Benjamin Poole from The Movie Waffler says, “Johnny Greenlaw’s movie is an intelligent, convincing and human drama. Open Mommy’s Box and you’ll find a true film by a real film maker.

“The production values of his film are gorgeous too; the deep colors and widescreen photography ambitiously present the drama with more visual panache and care than most Hollywood equivalents. Paul Coelho’s soundtrack is marvelous, and even the suits that various characters don are stunning (how often does one comment upon the costumes of a kickstarted indie?). Open Mommy’s Box and you’ll find a true film by a real film maker.”
