A story and a journey shared by four aspiring African entrepreneurs
looking to make a difference in society
Luanda, Angola – June
12, 2015 – Tupuca means to indulge, a word derived from a local Angolan
dialect. This word was the setting for what was envisioned multiple people
doing, indulging in food, family, friendships and moments. This spurred the
founders of Tupuca to think of how to efficiently bring this vision to the
masses, while using existing infrastructure and human capital. Thus, Tupuca was
born, a food delivery application that acts as a platform to connect the daily
customer to their restaurant of choice, a simple yet effective idea. Furthermore,
Tupuca seek to tackle an even bigger issue, which revolves around child hunger,
this app will seek to take comprehensive steps to reducing the current
staggering statistics that they are facing, this application will have a built
in option that will allow the user to donate a chosen amount to a charity of
choice.
Tupuca will create
jobs in the logistic and administrative fields as well as offering expansion
for our partnered restaurants and ultimately boosting the economy. Tupuca would not only help bring convenience
to an untapped Angolan market, but would also help provide an avenue for people
to give back when they order using the Tupuca application and create job
opportunities as well.
Addressing the
bigger issue has never been easier, Tupuca’s built function for optional
donation, the creators of Tupuca can make sure that we can start taking steps
towards solving pressing matters when it comes to child starvation.
About Tupuca
Serving the
Angolan population by improving efficiency and productivity, Tupuca is a food
delivery service that enables users to order food through an interactive mobile
application that connects users to restaurants, and also giving the users an
opportunity to donate to a nonprofit with every meal ordered.
Through their
interactive application, they create a comprehensive platform that aims to
connect the users with multiple restaurants, ensuring them timely delivery of
quality foods or pick up. Tupuca will look to solve daily inconvenient
situations where staff has high food demands with very little time between
breaks and traffic constricts movement, Tupuca will deliver nutritious meals to
people in the workplace that might otherwise pass up lunch due to constraints
and ultimately be less productive.
