Luigi Wewege founder of Vivier Group interviewed by Mario Schulzke founder of IdeaMensch on being an entrepreneur

ORLANDO, FLORIDA13 April 2015

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Luigi Wewege is the founder of Vivier Group and CEO of its Auckland based financial services arm Vivier & Co. Luigi explains to IdeaMensch how the idea for the company came about and discusses certain things learnt along the way.
Firstly where did the idea for Vivier Group come from?

The Global Credit Crunch had relatively little effect on the New Zealand banking sector. In part, this fortunate stability was a result of the health of the country’s financial market and lending sector, which always faced much sterner regulation and control than many other countries during the boom years between 2002 and 2007.

For such reasons, since the 1990s, New Zealand has been the destination of choice for global investors, who have been well rewarded for their faith. Particularly, those from countries such as Japan and China, who flocked to place their household savings in New Zealand, have since received interest rates well above their domestic offerings.

It became apparent to me in late 2013 that many global investors wanted to enjoy the attractive rates offered from New Zealand, without exposing themselves to exchange rate risk and thus the idea for Vivier Group was born.

What does your typical day look like and how do you make it productive?

It always starts with a coffee due to being predominantly a night owl. I am at my most productive when it’s quiet and I can work without interruptions and distractions. To allow the latter to occur I during the day, endeavour to check in with international staff members as they come online via their respective time zones and go over any pressing issues they may have.

How do you bring ideas to life?

Business plans, costing sheets, financial forecasts, etc… etc… people can spend an exceptional amount of time theorizing their ideas further but for me if the idea does not come close to certain indicators from the get go then they are not worth pursuing. Although when they do it’s all about creating a clear strategy and bringing in the right team members in order to execute.

What’s one trend that really excites you?

For me it has to be the onset of digital banking firms and I find it fascinating how it’s forced larger retails banks to increase their pace of digital adoption. As established banks cannot stop client attrition to agile start-ups and niche players, these banks are now beginning to think more like disruptors, obsessing about consumer experience and using digital technology to avoid being totally outflanked by new entrants or established competitors.

Announcing the Campaign to Help a Selfless Veteran Fund his College Education

Help a Veteran Get His Teaching License

Plainfield, NJ -- March 30, 2015 -- Darnell Knight, military veteran and college student, announces the campaign to seek funding to cover the cost of finishing his teaching degree and getting his teaching license.

Darnell has suffered a great deal in his life. Being raised by his grandparents in a less than safe neighborhood, Darnell saw his share of hardship, death and despair. Despite successfully fighting his way through high school and making it into college, Darnell suffered a major car accident that left him with a traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury that both required significant rehabilitation and recovery efforts before he was able to return to his regular life. With all of these setbacks Darnell was still not deterred, and not only finished with his Bachelor’s Degree, but continued on to pursue his Master’s Degree in education.

This is where things took a turn for the worse. Due to an error created by his college’s new accounting system, suddenly Darnell found himself with a past due balance of $2,500, none of which he had in cash or credit to pay back. Although he attempted to work out a payment plan or use the GI bill (military benefits that can be used towards college credits), he was told he had to pay his balance in full or risk being disenrolled mid-semester. At the same time, he was also diagnosed with worrisome masses on his thyroid that his doctors expressed great concern over. On top of all this, a job he truly cared about, working as a youth counselor, ended suddenly and he was not offered a full-time position. Darnell spent the following year nearly homeless and destitute, begging for friends and family to put him up for a few nights on their couches before moving on.

Luckily for Darnell, he has spent the last 6 months slowly paying back some of his debt through a call center operator position, where he has done very well and has enjoyed his work. He has finally been able to pay off the past due amount and is able to re-enroll in college to complete his degree.

Darnell is seeking funding in the amount of $50,000 to cover his bills as well as the tuition that will not be covered by the remaining 7 months of his GI bill benefits. Darnell’s goal is to complete his education and apply for his teaching license, giving him the opportunity to work with at-risk youth at a larger capacity that he had been able to as a youth counselor.

Please considering donating to help a military veteran reach his dreams after years of hardship.

VWEB Technologies. LLC Announces Hootshare - Streaming Video Live from Everywhere

Streaming Your World, Live!

Dallas, TX  – March 30, 2015 – VWEB Technologies. LLC announces the development of the Hootshare application and website to allow users to effortlessly stream live media from their mobile device, and share it with anyone they wish through our website and existing social media networks.

First, Hootshare is a mobile application that is tightly integrated with the website Hootshare.com. The idea is to stream live video to the website so friends and family can see what you are doing in real time. Then Hootshare archives the video for later playback for those that cannot watch right now.

Second, the founders wanted Hootshare to be social. Social Media is a great force in today’s society. People want to share what they are doing. Hootshare lets you do that without delay, in real time. You can post links to your Facebook and Twitter accounts right from the app, without interrupting the stream. Once the stream ends, those links remain active and will point to the archived version of the stream.

Additionally, the founders wanted to make Hootshare secure. Some people will share with everyone, drives interest in your activities and builds the Hootshare brand. But, we all know there are times when you need a little privacy too. So the founders of Hootshare have built a follow system that lets you decide who can see your streams!

Hootshare is built to be fun and easy to use, as intuitive as possible and did we mention fun?

The Future of Hootshare
So far we have the website and the initial (iOS) mobile application completed. The creators of Hootshare are almost ready to start beta testing, and begin working on the Android version. They also need to grow their infrastructure by adding more servers to handle the load when they go live. They dont want any server crashes!  The founders are continuing to do R&D to enhance both the web site and applications with new and better functionally. That's why Hootshare needs your help! With your generous support, Hootshare will be the phenomenal success we know it can be. And of course, we want to give you credit for all your support!

About Hootshare
Hootshare began its journey in early 2011 by the two founders, Tom Hodges and Gary Dean. They first came up with the idea of a mobile application that can stream video in real time rather than record it on the device. This idea went through several iterations and we finally settled on the Hootshare model.

Announcing the Campaign to Provide Funding for a New Documentary

Help provide funding to document the recovery and rebirth of a very lucky man

Phoenix, AZ -- March 22, 2015 -- Billy F. Mullin announces the campaign to seek funding to cover the costs of filming a new documentary about his recovery and rebirth from a long series of illness of injury.

At the age of 16, Billy contracted a rare terminal form disease known as  Meningital Coccidioidomycosis, caused by a virus trapped in the valley fever fungus that is stuck in Billy’s spine. This illness caused him to have a stroke, paralyzing his entire left side. Due to the severity of this illness, his doctors gave him a grim 2 year life expectancy.

Defying all odds, Billy has now reached the age of 27. However has not been an easy journey. Since being diagnosed in August 2004 he has suffered several setbacks, requiring that he re-teach himself how to walk 3 times, spent countless days in the Hospital or in bed unable to move, received more than a dozen spinal taps, and required brain surgery 6 separate occasions. Billy’s doctors have warned him that he may require several more surgeries on his brain throughout his life to repair the damage caused by his illness.

While the seriousness of his illness coupled with the lengthy hospital stays made it impossible for him to completely finish film school, he attended enough of his coursework to realize that his true dream is to become a film maker. Hence, he decided to start a documentary about his own life and explore the passion he has for the art of tattooing.

The plan for this documentary is to film the process of completely transforming his appearance through the use of large pieces of tattoo art covering both of his arms, portions of his neck, and 70% of his torso. Throughout the documentary, Billy will couple the process of his tattoo sessions while telling his life story and subsequent illness through interviews with various important people in his life.

Billy is seeking funding in order to complete the documentary and tattoo artwork. While he admits this is likely to be a costly and dangerous venture, he believes this is the best way to explore his love of film while allowing himself to be reborn out of his previous suffering.
