Ten Years Past and Parents Can Finally See Their Children. Thank you “Silver Heart”

Los Angeles, CA, 5/6/2015 — Corazon de Plata which means, “Silver Heart” in Spanish is a program that provides the opportunity to parents in Latin America to be united with their children for the first time in ten, twenty or even 30 years here in the United States.

Mr. Omar Martinez the President of the Federacion de Clubes Zacatecanos del Sur de
California FCZSC along with his organization are looking to assist parents 65+ from Zacatecas Mexico to reunite with their children for two weeks here in Los Angeles. Because of Immigration laws and economical challenges this was not possible for the families. With the gracious assistance of Lic. Miguel Alonso Reyes, Governor of Zacatecas and Loly Gonzales Trejo the Rep of Cultural Affairs at FCZSC and the Coordinator of, “Corazon de Plata”, this dream will happen this coming Saturday, May 9th here in Downtown Los Angeles.

Pulling together the Visa’s, the transportation, lodging and food has been a challenge and with the help of sponsors and assistance of Unity Fundraising (unityfundraising.com) and their Director of International Development Brenda Layana this project has moved forward and the results will be a moment filled with love and happiness for all 40 families.

This incredible event would not have been possible without the additional assistance of Rigoberto Castaneda, Director of the Zacatecas State Immigration Institute and Felipe Cabral, Representative of the Zacatecas Government in California. There were 500 applications received and reviewed but the money raised only allowed 40 families to reunite. The Federation is planning to have a second event in November of this year and if all the sponsors and individuals come together we hope to have an additional 100 or more families have the same opportunity.

If you are interested in donating to this heartwarming event in November of this please contact Gary Monroe at gmonroe@unityfundraising.com for additional information.
